Streonshalh B&B is nestled atop the cliffs of Robin Hood's Bay, situated in the dramatic and rugged scenery of the North Yorkshire coastline. Robin Hoods Bay is probably one of the most picturesque fishing villages in the country. The village is set amongst a network of steeply sloping streets, steps and alleyways and retains a strong historic link with the sea, reminiscent of days gone by with fishermen in small boats and smugglers dodging the excise men. The origins of the name are unknown but there are many speculations. The name does not appear in any records until the sixteenth century, although it is sometimes known as 'Baytown'.
Middlethorpe is one mile from the historic village of 'Robin Hood's Bay', considered the 'gem of the north'. With its cobbled streets and narrow winding alleyways, it's a joy to explore. Middlethorpe offers warm and friendly accommodation. The house is set on the hillside above Robin Hood's Bay and Fylingthorpe and has beautiful views over the village and out to sea. Originally the 'Top Shop' in Robin Hood's Bay, the Wayfarer has been lovingly restored as a bistro to a very high standard. Owners Chris and Lucy Hutchinson have created the perfect atmosphere in their Bistro with original wood floors and antique pine tables mixed with a contemporary decor. The menu changes every month and the specials board is changed daily. The Wayfarer also provides cosy accommodation.
