The Battlesteads Hotel   

Originally built as a farmstead in 1747, this stone-built Inn and restaurant features a cosy bar with wood burning stove, sunny walled garden and patio, excellent bar meals and a-la-carte menus (including vegetarian) using fresh, local produce; most ingredients, including seasonal game, venison, beef and lamb are sourced within 50 miles. Good choice of wines and 5 cask ales, three of which are from local micro-breweries. Four ground floor rooms have disabled access and facilities and are situated close to car parking. A 'green' hotel, Battlesteads is heated by a biomass boiler fuelled by wood chippings from local forestry. It even has its own observatory in the clearest sky area in the UK. Bay Horse Inn
